Character Breakdown
YINOELLE
40s | Puerto Rican woman
The middle sister. Intelligent, charismatic, and quick with a joke, Yinoelle often uses humor to navigate pain. Practical and deeply protective of her own family, she struggles to balance responsibility with a desire to build a different future. Requires strong comedic instincts alongside emotional vulnerability.
MAMI
60s–70s | Puerto Rican woman
Warm, funny, imaginative, and deeply devoted to her family. As she faces the progression of terminal illness, Mami navigates the impossible task of holding her family together while confronting her own mortality. A role requiring warmth, humor, emotional depth, and quiet strength.
PAPI
60s–70s | Puerto Rican man
The family's aging patriarch. Physically frail and largely confined to a wheelchair following illness, his influence over the family remains undeniable. Though his movement is limited, this role demands a commanding stage presence and nuanced physical storytelling. The actor must communicate power, vulnerability, manipulation, and humanity through subtle physical and vocal performance.
